This simple, two-color necklace evokes the colors of early spring and the amazonite pendant recalls the first pale and fragile leaves after a long winter.

Hand-knotted on pale peach colored silk, this necklace has a sterling silver clasp imported from Bali. The beads are amazonite and peach aventurine. The pendant is about 1.75 inches and the necklace is roughly 17 inches.

Like all silk knotted necklaces, care should be taken not to get this necklace wet, and it should be stored flat: silk will stretch over time. Like all of my jewelry, this necklace is not intended for use by persons under 13.

About the Stones:

Amazonite is a (usually) blue-green form of microcline feldspar, which is potassium aluminum silicate. Amazonite is a fairly soft stone and should be handled with care.

Aventurine is a member of the chalcedony family, comprised of microcrystalline quartz. Tiny inclusions of other minerals (usually mica) give it a subtle sparkle. Most commonly green, aventurine can also be found in brown, blue, red, peach and yellow forms. Aventurine is a hard stone with a Mohs hardness of 7, and was used by stone age people’s to make tools.
